Definition of Pea
Pea is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
Small numbered spheres used in various pocket billiard games. Each pea has a number and the set includes peas 1 through 15, and sometimes 16.
The set of pea spheres are placed in a bottle for purposes of random assignment depending on the various billiard games.
For example, players may draw peas to determine their position in a tournament roster.
Alternatively, players in a multiplayer game may each draw a pea to determine the order of play. In the game of kelly pool, the players may draw each a pea for purposes of assigning themselves a random ball.
