Definition of Having The Cue Ball On A String
Having The Cue Ball On A String is a billiards slang term that is a part of Billiard Technique Terminology.
A player is said to be having the cue ball on a string when they are playing very good position play and perfectly controlling where the cue ball comes to rest after each shot. The term is derived from the fact that the player is positioning the cue ball so well that he or she couldn't position the cue ball any better if they had it literally attached to a string and could pull the string to control where it came to rest.
