Definition of Breaking Violation
Breaking Violation is a billiards term that is a part of Game Rule Terminology.
A breaking violation is a violation of any of the special rules applying only to the opening break shot of certain billiard games. Unless specified in the individual game rules, a breaking violation is not a foul. For exact breaking violation rule information, you should consult the individual game's rules, as well as the general rules of pocket billiards.
