Definition of Scratch
Scratch is a billiards term that is a part of Game Rule Terminology.
Scratch refers to the undesirable act of pocketing the cue ball in pocket billiard games. A scratch in most games is considered a foul. In a more general and unofficial sense, the term scratch refers to all types of fouls.
