Definition of Nine Ball
Nine Ball is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
Nine Ball is a type of pocket billiard game. It apparently began in the United States in the 1920s and had a poor reputation due to the gambling and hustling activity that it attracted and became associated with. Nine Ball has become much more popular since those times, and some of the most notable billiard professionals made their name by playing it. The game of nine ball is said to have been born early in the 1920s in the United States. Thus, the term would have originated around that time.
