Definition of Jump
Jump is a billiards slang term that is a part of Billiard Technique Terminology.
Jump refers to a jump shot that is executed on the cue ball as such that it is propelled in to the air to clear other object balls or obstacles. The jump is performed by striking the cue ball as such that it is struck down in to the cloth so that it rebounds up into the air and over the obstacle. It is considered illegal to use the dig and scoop method for a jump.
