Definition of Cloth
Cloth is a billiards term that is a part of Pool Table Terminology.
The baize material which covers the bed and cushions of a pool table. The cloth used to cover a pool table is very important and special, and can come in a variety of grades. Along with the general quality of the table itself, the cloth plays an extremely important role in how well a particular table plays. Cloth can be actual felt on very low end tables, baize on snooker tables, or worsted wool on higher end pool tables. Synthetic cloth is also becoming more common.
