Definition of Dump
Dump is a billiards slang term that is a part of Gambling and Betting Terminology.
Dump refers to the strongly frowned upon practice of arranging to intentionally lose a billiard match on which other people's money is riding, for a prearranged share of the winnings. Sometimes only one billiard player is involved; and other times, both billiard players could be involved, with one pitching (agreeing to lose the billiard match), and the other player catching. (Agreeing to win the billiard match) To dump is to disguise one's true playing ability, and is considered an extreme and unsavory form of sandbagging. When players arrange for one to dump a match, the agreement is called a gapper.
