Definition of Yellow Ball
Yellow Ball is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
In snooker, the yellow ball is the lowest valued colored ball on the table, and is worth two points. It is one of the baulk colors. Used in this context, yellow ball may sometimes be referred to as Yellow(s).
In UK 8-ball, and Blackball, the yellow ball is one of two sets or groups of seven object balls to be potted before the black ball or eight ball is potted. You can contrast this to the red ball, and compare it to the eight ball.
In Caroms (carom billiards), the yellow ball is a reference to one of the balls which is sometimes yellow.
Yellow Ball - Usage
If he was talking about the yellow ball, he was probably playing snooker, blackball billiards, or UK 8 ball.
