Definition of Red Ball
Red Ball is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
In cue sports, the term red ball has several different contexts. In snooker, a red ball refers to any one of the 15 red balls in the set of snooker balls that are each worth 1 point. In carom billiards games, the red ball is the ball that not allocated to either of the players. In the game of blackball, the red ball is one of two groups of seven object balls that need to be pocketed before the black ball is pocketed. The red ball is spotted before the yellow ball.
