Definition of Shot For Nothing
Shot For Nothing is a billiards slang term that is a part of Billiard Technique Terminology.
A shot for nothing is, as the name suggests, is a shot where a player tries a tough pot with safety in mind so that if the pot fails, the incoming player will not likely have a shot, will not be able to make a meaningful contribution, and will likely have to reply with another safety. The meaning of the term shot for nothing comes from the fact that there is no risk, or the risk level is nothing.
