Definition of Rain Table
Rain Table is a billiards slang term that is a part of Pool Table Terminology.
A rain table situation occurs under humid conditions were the rails are springy, the cloth plays slow, and billiard balls pick up a lot of dirt and debris. Generally used to describe horrible playing conditions. It should be noted, however, that both players are subject to the same table, and thus, have the same disadvantage.

I'd still like to know how outdoor pool tables are designed to direct rain that enters the pockets, especially with a ball-return system.
No level surfaces under the slate?
I'm sure somebody forgets to put on the pool table's cover on eventually!
It appears that over the last 10 years there is more specialization to the design of outdoor pool tables from metal only.
