Definition of Chalk
Chalk is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
A caked powder formed in to a small cube which is applied to a the cue tip before a shot. This powder is designed to, and used to create, friction between the cue tip and the cue ball and thus decreasing slippage between the tip and cue ball.
