Definition of Powder
Powder is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
As related to billiards and other cue sports, powder is a substance player's use to coat the lower portion of the pool cue, the ferrule, so that it slides more easily through the hand bridge. When the cue or the hand is sticky, the movement of the cue during the stroke is not fluid, preventing the shooting player from executing a decent shot.
