Definition of Around the World
Around the World is a billiards slang term that is a part of Scoring Terminology.
Refers to the use of coins as way to keep track of games won when playing for small money. Billiard players use a coin that is placed under the rail and next to the diamonds or spots. The center diamond at the head rail of the table is zero, and each diamond away from that is considered to be one game. To go "around the world" is to beat your opponent enough times that the coin travels all the way around the diamonds on the billiards table.
