Definition of Apex Ball
Apex Ball is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
The apex ball is the ball at the front of the rack. It is called the apex ball because it is placed geometrically at the top, or at the apex of the billiard triangle. When starting a game of 8-Ball, for example, the number 1 ball is the apex ball.
