Odd Location of the Sights on my Pool Table

Odd Location of the Sights on my Pool Table

I have a pool table like this Wendt Culver antique pool table.

The only difference is, there are no diamonds on the end rails and only one diamond on the side rails. They line up on foot and head string?

Does anyone know why?

   I would suspect the diamond sights are placed there in order to demarcate the foot-string and head-string.

   It might help if we could see a photo though.
