3 Things I love About Billiards
Give me 3 things you love about the game, this can be anything.
- Getting out of trouble - Not much more rewarding than staring down a difficult if not nearly impossible position and finding a way to pick up the hard one and continue the run. Time and time again I find this to be the most rewarding aspect of my game. 2. A sneaky safety - I love catching two or more rails or using an object ball to get a great safety. Almost as good as knocking down a good run. 3. Dark Pool Rooms - Nothing feels more like home than a dark cool pool hall with no lights and just the tables lite up. I can't play with lights on I need to lurk in the shadows until I reach the table. Kind of my comfort zone.

- Bursting the over confident ego of people who think they know how to play the game when they really don't.2. The ever changing possibilities that may arise each and every time you approach the table to shoot.3. The overwhelming amount of friends that I have and will make from playing.

- Learning new things after so many years, and the feeling it creates. Kinda like discovering a secret weapon.2. Realizing that hard work pays off. see #3 - Often it is hard to gauge improvement until someone that you haven't seen in ages sees you play or you take apart someone that used to be a lot better than you. Instead of small consistent gains, they see it all in one dose.3. Getting paid.

@djkx1 - I love that feeling. I don't know how many times I've been mid game and done something and made a mental note and applied the same techniques again and again and then wondered to myself why I didn't learn that years back. This game gives you something new to learn in every outing.

- Getting to the point in any particular game where you KNOW that you're gonna get out and win the game. You just feel a little twinge of relief inside.2. Knowing that no matter how long I play this game, I will ALWAYS be learning, that I'll NEVER master it. In any of my past endeavors, if I get to the point to where I've done all that I'm gonna do in it, it gets boring and I usually move on to something else. This is NOT gonna happen with pool.3. The game is universal. It can be played by people of all ages, sex, races, size, etc. It can be played a few balls at a time or literally for hours on end. For people like myself that own their own table, it can be used for entertainment, for killing time (I throw balls out on the table and practice while I'm doing the laundry, in between wash/drying cycles), for getting away from the T.V., or for some quiet time with a significant other. I could definitely list more than three things I love about the game of pool. These are just the first three things that popped into my head.
