BMC Texas Oil Rig Cues - Dates and Numbers
Photos of the various signatures, dates, and numbers we've come across on BMC Oil Man cue from the Meucci Texas cue series.
BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue Prototype - Dated 2012-12-28
A BMC Texas Oil Man pool cue prototype shared by Nick Beesley. This prototype cue was shown off on AZB in January of 2013. The material used in the oil derrick on the prototype cue is phenolic resin (hard plastic). "The production models will use aluminum in the derrick so should be much more striking" said Nick. The BMC Texas Oil Rig cue is signed by Bob Meucci on the forearm and is dated 2012-12-28.
BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue - Number 01 - Dated 2013-02-26
A BMC Texas Oil Rig cue owned initially by Nick Beesley. This one is numbered 001 and is dated 2013-02-23.
BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue - Number 01 - Dated 2013-02-26 (2019)
Number 001 of the BMC Texas Oil Man cue turned up again for sale in 2019. From the seller: Here’s a super nice and rare Texas meucci cue #001. Butt: 14.75 5/16x18 pin. Shaft 1: 4.71oz 12.80mm. Shaft 1: 4.5oz 12.80mm. This cue is in nice condition and all original! Price:$1200 or best offer.
BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue - Number 17
A BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue that the owner was showing off in the spring of 2018. From the owner: Wanted one when they were first made, and found one a few weeks ago. I paid $1000 and got the cue, a decent 2x2 case, and ended up with 4 shafts because the first cue that got sent out broke in transit and the seller is a badass.
BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue - Number 18
A BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue #18 that was for sale in January 2019 as a complete set of the four BMC Texas cues.

BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue #18 April 2019
A BMC Texas Oil Rig cue #018 that was for sale in 2019 after the set of #18 Texas cues was bought by "The Pool Cue Shop", broken up, and sold individually on eBay.
BMC Texas Oil Man Cue #10 - Dated 2013-02-26
A new-old-stock BMC "Texas Oil Man" cue, #10, dated 2013-02-26, that was for sale in March 2021. From the seller: For sale is a NOS (new-old-stock) "Texas Oil Man" cue, signed by Robert J. Meucci, dated "2.26.13", and numbered "010" on the forearm. It has two matching Meucci Black Dot shafts. Not all of the cues of this model were dated and numbered, as they were made in batches. This one was in the 1st batch and has Bob's signature, the serial number, and completion date. The cue is in great condition. Always kept in the plastic sleeve and stored in a cool area. In the forearm at the top of the flags you can feel a bit of the inlay but other than that the cue is terrific. The Texas oilman cue itself is made of Texas mesquiute wood and has the three Texas jewels in the butt sleeve between the flags. The forearm consists of three oil derricks between three Texas flag points. I designed this cue myself while living in Texas in 2012, and put into production in 2013-2014. It has never been chalked or used, and has been kept in my display case. It has a straight shaft. This cue, as you can see in the photos, has the larger pin and screws into the wood shaft. The cue weighs 18.5 oz (sticker weight) and you can add a bit of weight if you want. The price is $895 with a cue case and free shipping. I think this is a good deal as I have about 12% in fees also to cover from eBay & PayPal. I sold many of these cues for full asking price of $1,350 and I'm not even sure the secondary resale market as I've seen them on eBay for more than MSRP.

Info on the BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue
This cue, and all of the cues in the Meucci Texas series were designed by Bob Meucci, Val Beesley, and Nick Beesley. This was the first cue developed in the series. On the "OwnIt Billiards" Facebook page, the gallery of the prototype titled "Texas "Oil Man" Cue." was shared with the caption:
The Oil Rig cue is the 1st custom cue designed over a nice bottle of wine.
The Cypress House started taking pre-orders in January 2013 just after the prototype cue was completed (prototype is dated 2012-12-28). The first batch of production BMC Texas Oil Rig cues were completed in the spring of 2013 as confirmed in message from Nick Beesley in January 2013:
Talking with Bob yesterday, he said the first batch should be ready mid March (2013) for those that are thinking of the cue and putting some money away.
It turned out that the first production cue rolled off the line on Feb 23, 2013, as #001 has that date on the forearm.
They still had not sold through all 28 as of Feb 2014, as Nick posted pricing on 2014-02-21:
MSRP $1,350. I have a bundle including your choice of case and this cue for under $1100.
In March 2021, in an eBay sale of a NOS #10 BMC Oil Man cue, Nick mentioned the difference between the un-numbered prototype and the 18 or so production versions:
... prototype has white derricks vs. the silver I inserted into the production versions.

Info on the BMC Texas Oil Rig Cue from Meucci Cues
The Texas Oil Man cue is our first cue in the Texan cue series.
The Texas Oil Rig cue is made from Texas' own Mesquite wood; reported to be the most stable wood known to man.
The cue is inlaid with two sets of three Texas State flags. We put three flags below the wrap and three (reverse tapered flags) above the wrap. Both sets of flags are made from a combination of mother of pearl and paua shell. Then to really make a statement, on the butt end of the cue between the three state flags we inlaid three miniature blue paua shell inlays shaped like the state of Texas, outlined in aluminum.
In between the state flags in the forearm we inlaid three oil well rigs, and if that wasn’t enough we inlaid six lone stars into blue paua shell at the joint to complete this fantastic limited addition BMC cue.
You are sure to get a second and third look when you are sporting one of these Texas oil rig cues in your favorite pool emporium.
