Definition of Topspin
Topspin is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Technique Terminology.
Topspin is the name of the type of spin applied to a cue ball via the follow shot. It creates a forward spin on the cue ball which has several effects. It causes the cue ball to travel faster, and creates wider angles of incidence. Topspin is created by striking the cue ball above the equator.
