Harvey Billiards in Renton Washington SUCKS
So normally I don't gripe too much, especially about billiard halls, but I was in probably one of the worst pool halls I'd ever seen.
I was back in Seattle area last week for work (my day job) and we went on a team-building outing and decided to go play some pool. (I learned how to play Cutthroat pool too, which is a really fun and competitive game)
Anyway, where do I start. This pool hall had the greasiest old man working the counter, and he was a recluse, rude, anti-social, smelly old man, with no social skills whatsoever.
Next. They don't take any form of electronic payment. No cash card, credit card, debit card, checks. Cash only. And if you are there for a work function and want to expense the table time, don't even think about asking for a receipt if you don't want a snarky, rude comment to follow. Friggin prick.
Here is a laundry list of the remaining reasons the hall sucks:
- Harvey Billiards smells like musty rotten ass in an unventilated room.
- Sign saying "no jumping or jump cues allowed" even when their pool tables have cloth with holes in it, and cloth that's worn through. The cloth on those tables were seriously like 40 years old at least.
- The pockets were loose, and when you shot a ringer into a corner pocket, the plastic rim on the outer edge of the pocket would fly right off the table...
- Their triangle rack was about 500 years old, full of grease, and all beat to hell.
- The cues, don't get me started on the house cues.
On the other hand, if you can put up with all of that, and if you want to shoot pool in a nice private low key hall, this one might do the trick for you.

I find this humorous! I agree with you wholeheartedly. And what is TRULY humorous is that Harvey's has now moved to a "new & improved location"... which is exactly like the old location, only with lower ceilings. If you blink you will miss the place altogether as it sits on a side road in the industrial area! No food... Oh, forgot -- you can have a pot pie from Costco for $5! LMAO or bring in your own TV dinner! (They also charge you to use the microwave!) A dollar a cup for day old coffee.. and the owner of the joint is one of the biggest con artists on the planet! And a thief to boot! Don't leave your cue in one of the lockers.. it just might "disappear". (Has happened innumerable times, with the "buyer" later on telling the TRUE owner who had sold it to them! He has balls, gotta say that!)
The thing that truly amazes me is that every single person who is a 'regular' there will tell you what a crap room it is, how Burt Harvey, owner, is an a-hole, etc, etc, etc.. yet they rush down the road to sit in that hole daily. Amazing.
Thanks for giving me a laugh. LOVE IT!

These guys are full of Crap . Harvey's Billiards does not have food, Now , But a full kitchen is under construction . They have 9 or 10 Brunswick 4 1/2 x 9 tables in excellent condition , The place is clean , and quite , no loud music , The people behind the counter are clean and polite . I think it is bull crap to come on a forum and try to ruin the reputation of a billiard establishment , we have far less than we need . To many are closing there doors thanks to people spreading crap like this , and they are so chicken s--t to even sign there own name .
Thanks for letting me say my opinion .
