Nominate Other Color After Potting Red and Cue Ball Touches Pink

Can you nominate another color after potting the red ball and the cue ball touches the pink, if you play away from that pink ball?

E.g. If I pot a red ball, and the cue ball touches the pink color, can I NOMINATE another color to pot while playing away from pink without disturbing it?
