Rare Helmstetter Made for Red Jones Using Palmer and Paradise Parts
Of all the interesting vintage cues I came across this year, this was the "prize". It was made by Dick Helmstetter for Red Jones using Palmer and Paradise parts.
The statement is simple and clear and quite obvious for anyone familiar with both makers, Palmer and Paradise, that-is. Dick used the forearm, collar, joint, and pin from a Palmer and Paradise parts from the a-joint down to the butt cap.
The cue has one of it's original shafts, a second that was acquired and used by Red Jones, and a third matching shaft by Jacoby who restored the cue.
I normally prefer cues to be left in their original condition but I was able to find before pictures of the cue on AZ and it did require a refinish and rewrap. I must say that Jacoby did an outstanding job, right down to white linen wrap.

Thank you.
I was a bit skeptical until I was able to verify it's provenance.
