This Meucci cue is stumping me as well. A few questions:
- Did you buy it new, and if so, when did you buy it and where did you buy it from?
- Do you know if it has ever been repaired e.g. had the butt cap replaced?
- Also can you send a photo showing the forearm (e.g. all of the way from the butt to the joint)?

After some digging in our records, I found these two images, which my notes say are the elusive Meucci Freshman #2 (MEFR-02) cue. The images were named "freshm2".
The problem is, no catalogs actually list the Meucci Freshman #2, nor do any of the historical Meucci price lists. They just list the FR-1, FR-3, and FR-4.
It could be that yours is a 1 of 1 prototype of the Meucci Freshman 2 pool cue. Other than the photos from our notes, and your images, I have never seen another photo of this cue, nor have I seen it in person. I am guessing that for whatever reason (quality, shortage of materials, costs, etc) they decided not to produce this cue at large, thus it not being in the catalogs. I have heard numerous stories about prototypes "walking out the back door" of the factory and ending up for sale on eBay. Sometimes Meucci will send prototypes to dealers to sell off as a one-off.
So how, at this point can we prove it? Well, I can't find the exact spot on the site I got them from anymore to verify it, but the images are very similar to those they had posted for the Meucci Freshman FR-1 e.g. you can tell it's from the same site, etc. So this is all I have so far to support the claim that your cue is a Meucci Freshman ME-FR2 (aka Meucci MEF-2)

I realize this is an old post, but I have the exact same cue and received confirmation from the company by email that it is indeed one of the few Freshmen 02 models ever produced.
Now I just need to have a shaft modified to match mine as I purchased it without the shaft!

Great find! Is Meucci going to make a shaft for you?
Also, could you share the email from Meucci confirming the model?
- Coleman on 3/29/2018 7:19:22 AM
Sure here you are...
And yes I am exchanging emails with them to see if a shaft can still be matched up. Will let ya know.

Great, thanks. This got me digging, and they were on the Meucci site for a bit - here is a snapshot from October 1999 of the Freshman Series in case anyone is interested.
MSRP on the Freshman #2 cue was $350.

Awesome, thanks for the info!
I spoke to the Meucci factory today and they can certainly still make a shaft for this cue for $170+tax. She said to measure the butt joint with a micrometer and let her know the exact measurement and they will take it from there!! Good news!

Thanks for info on the Meucci cue. It has been a while since I checked this question.

You are most welcome. Wonder if you would be interested in selling it.

I also own a Meucci Freshman-2 cue with the original red dot shaft it was made with.
I bought it off an old semi-famous player and have owned it for about 17 years.
I may be interested in selling it if anyone is interested. Contact me if so.
