ID a McDermott "I Love Pool" Pool Cue
I am trying to ID this McDermott "I Love Pool" pool cue.
It is similar to this McDermott E-I3 pool cue, but except for the forearm.
On my cue's forearm it says "I Love Pool" (styled as "I ♥ Pool") with a rose behind it.
Do you have any info on this cue you can provide?

billiardsforum on 3/11/2025 8:19:28 AMInteresting. The art on the butt sleeve is identical to that of a McDermott E-I3 as you mentioned, and it even has the "W. Spencer" name below it.
This cue isn't found in the McDermott "retired cues" archive.
Is it possible that someone did the forearm artwork after buying the cue? The way the forearm art has the dark-colored background (so as to cover up the original art) is making me think about this scenario.

Oh that's really interesting and probably kind of rules-out the after-market paint job idea.
I'll reach out to our contact at McDermott Cue and let you know if/when I get an answer.
My original McDermott cue was purchased at a billiards store around 1999. I paid around $375.
This is actually two transfer cues. It is the sleeve from McDermott E-I3 and forearm from a McDermott MW03.
That's what McDermott told me.

McDermott Cue, being of good customer service, answered my inquiry anyway, and this is the response:
That is a hybrid design and likely made in the 1990s.
The sleeve is from the McDermott E-i3 model, but the forearm is from an McDermott MW03 (shown on our current transfer cue designs: mcdermottcue.com/mcdermott_custom_build_cue.php#transferart).
I just received it. I'm sorry.
But still don't know the back story as to why it was made that way or how much it's worth.
