Diamond Sight Placement on a 7-Foot Pool Table

What is the proper placement for the diamond sights on a 7-foot pool table?

I have an 84 inches x 47.75 inches (7 foot) pool table that arrived with no sights. It is exactly these measurements from outside end to outside end.

I've tried 10.5 inches separation between diamonds but it doesn't come out right.

Should I just shoot and place them?
