Buying table, will climate damage it? Any advice?
Hi,
Just joined this forum. My parents had a Brunswick pool table while I was growing up. I have my own place now and want to purchase a table, most likely used but here's the rub. No room in the house for a table.
I want to locate it in my shop. It's a big pole barn with concrete floor. It is not heated and not insulated. Roof does not leak. In my area (upstate NY), the temp could get as low as -10 at times. During the summer it may get to 90. I will not be using the table during the winter/cold weather.
I assume it must be slate as excess humidity may warp a non-slate top?
Table would only be used spring/summer & fall when the guys come over for poker etc.
If anyone has a similar arrangement, or anyone has advice/knowledge about what I want to do - please post a reply.
Thanks for your time.
