Antique Pool Table Value
I need to sell my pool table and want to get an idea of value. It's a unique table as it is from Ames Pool Hall in NYC made famous when The Huster was filmed there. It is one of the tables shown in the film. In 1953 Willie Mosconi lost to Gaunt Gary here. Ames also played host to the New York State three-cushion championships in the 60's. I was given it by a family member who bought it at an auction at the pool hall when it closed in 1966. The table plackard says "Blatt Cushions, Blatt Bowling & Billards Corp, 809 Broadway, NY 3, NY. Apparently is dates from the late 19th century but I haven't verified that. It still looks great but is unrestored and a little beaten up.

Thats really cool - some great billiard history there!
Here are some things you must consider.
The historic significance has quite a bit of value - ONLY if you can prove it. What supporting documents or evidence do you have for a potential buyer to prove the table's origins? to prove it was actually at that billiard hall? I'd guess that since it sold at auction, there should be excellent documentation. If so, can you reply with a description or image of the documentation?
Also, can you please post (or email me) some images of the table? 1 of the underside, one of the plackard, and 1 or 2 of the general appearance. We have some fairly knowledgable pool table experts here who can probably help if you can supply what I've mentioned.

Thanks. I'm seeing if the guy who bought it has any documentation left (he bought it 42 years ago and moved when he retired). I'll also take some pics.
