1934 Brunswick Commander Pool Table Value

How much is a 1934 Brunswick Commander pool table worth?

I've heard figures as high as $12000.

I have a 1934 Brunswick Commander Liberty pool table that I am refurbishing. Once it is finished, I am hoping to find it's value for insurance purposes.

Any help would be appreciated.

    We'll need to see clear and detailed photos of the newly restored Brunswick Commander pool table when it is all finished.

    We'll also need to know the details like it's size, etc. what original accessories it includes, does it have the original name plate, original hardware, etc.

    That's the only way anyone can attempt to value it.

    I can tell you that $12000 seems outlandish for this model (by over double).

    It is usually the older-style models with detailed inlays and/or marquetry which command a value like that, and not the comparatively newer art-deco style models like the Brunswick Commander circa 1934-1940.

    I have two prior classified listings in my archives for this model, one sold in 2017 and the other in 2018.

    1. Canton, GA - 8-Foot Brunswick Commander Pool Table, $5200 (didn't sell) - Had been refurbished 10 years prior with re-chromed corners, new cloth etc. 1930s-brunswick-contender-pool-table.jpg

    2. Denver, CO - 10-Foot Brunswick Commander Carom Pool Table (no pockets), $6500 (didn't sell) - Restored and refinished from the ground up. 1940-brunswick-contender-carom-table.jpg

    Both included delivery and setup (worth at least $500).

    There just isn't the demand for these pool tables that there once was, and especially for styles which were popular between the 1930s and the 1970s.

    But in reality, it's the detailed answers to the questions above, as well as the overall quality and accuracy of the restoration, and your specific pool table's provenance which can really add to (or detract from) value. We'll need to see and assess those things in order to value it.
