Fischer Empress 92 Ball Return Jammed

I have an older Fischer Empress 92 coin operated pool table that I inherited with a house purchase.

There is a jam in the ball return and the balls will not drop.

The key has been defeated by the previous owner but I can not slide the "return" mechanism out to clear the jam.

Does anyone have a similar table and can share pictures of the inside so I can figure out what my issue is?

The left side seems to be free, as it moves about an inch but the right side is held fast.

I can add pictures later.

    You have a couple of options (if I understand the situation correctly - I am not sure exactly what you mean by "defeated the key").

    Assuming you can't resolve the key issue, and can't remove the tray, there are a few options.

    1. Sometimes a ball return jam can be cleared if you can get a thin broom handle up through the ball return tray and poke the jam loose. If that doesn't work, a $20 plumbers snake might do the trick.
    2. Remove the rails and lift up the slate (usually attached with bolts or screws to the frame). That would expose the ball return system so you can see what you are doing.
    3. Get a few folks, lift one end of the table, and "shake" it gently back and forth. This can sometimes work the stuck balls loose.
    4. Can you get at the ball return mechanism from under the table by chance? I don't remember if the Fischer Empress coin-op pool tables have an enclosed bottom or not.

    Unfortunately I don't have a schematic for the Fischer Empress 92 pool table, nor do I have one myself.

    These are generic suggestions which you may try at your own risk.
