Will Halogen Pool Table Lighting Cast Shadows

I am thinking about purchasing a halogen light to put above our pool table but have heard that this type of lighting will cast to many shadows. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

   There are halogen flood lights available that would I think give you the lighting effect you desire. The issue of shadowing may come from the fact that halogen is brighter and therefore more contrasting. I would go to a lighting shop and ask to see a billiard table light with halogen bulbs. Then shade one lamp as it would be in a game situation and observe.
