Are Pool Table Lights Necessary?
I'm in the market for a billiard table, but I'm on the fence about purchasing a table light. The lighting in our rec room is good (we have dimmers), so I'm wondering if it's worth it.
For those who don't have table lights, do you wish you did? Does it make that much of a difference?

I played on a table for 2 years with a light hanging over one corner pocket. The table was unevenly illuminated, and I got used to it. In fact it made me realize several things wrong with the way my eye and brain were lining up the physics of the shot. That is, you can't always rely on the reflections from the balls to know where the edges and centers are.
After those two years, I got a nice Diamond pool table light and the table now works even better (me, not so much).

Having table lights in not necessary i guess but it would look good if you have it.

I believe that lights are extremely important in conjunction with the overall the pool table setup. The reason can be attributed to the fact that the players won't have to endure 'lightlessness' condition when playing. Also, if the setup is placed in some basement, then extra lights can help with that much needed illumination.

Necessary? Well, that depends how well lit your room is, but I definitely think it will benefit play & aesthetics.
