No clue what kind of table this is, help please!
I have been looking for a pool table for a while now and i came across this table locally. All the owner knows is that his parents bought it 50 years ago and it was used then and painted black. 13 years ago he took it apon himself to sand the paint off and stain it. He clames that it is an oak table, the rails are fine except for one 6" near a side pocket. the pockets were redone 13 years ago and the felt was also but it needs replaced. Thanks in advance for whatever information anyone has. guy is asking $700

We can't make out the wording on the name plate. Please spell it out in a reply.

Brunswick, not the original tag. a guy told me it looks like an "eclipse" table and could be pre 1900... going to be taking it apart saturday

$700.00? The name plate is worth that much. Take it in a heartbeat.

i did purchase the table and will be picking it up tomorrow. what do you mean by the name plate? i have had a few people that restore tables say it is 100 years old easily and one said maybe even post 1900...
going to replace rails, even though there is only one little dead spot, replace felt (still deciding on color) and thinking about sanding it down and maybe doing an oil/poly finish. what u guys think?

Each of us have leanings. Some like a pool table that looks like furniture. Others like a pool table that looks like a pool table.
The latter being, by far, the best bang for the buck.
If cost is irrelevant, get both!
