New Pool Table Cloth Plays Horrible
My new pool table cloth plays horrible.
I have an eight foot Harvard pool table. It had a nice felt on it, but the bumpers were shot. The cloth I had on it felt padded and had a high thread count. I had a company put new bumpers on it, so I had new felt put on it also. I was told the felt that was put back on the pool table was the recommended felt used in tournament competition.
I am heart broken. My table plays awful. I watched them level the table and I know that part is fine, but the cue ball is hard to control. It seems to roll a lot farther on every shot. the ball can be seen wobbling on the table as it is slowing down. You can actually hear the ball rolling on the table, like a bowling alley.
The ball being struck by the cue ball does not go at the intended angle. Its as if the felt is directing the ball in a screwy way.
The new felt is a combination of wool and polyester. I used to enjoy bank shots before the new felt and rubbers were put on. Now I look like a joke at banking. The angle of reflection is not equal to the angle of inflection. When I try a sideways bank the struck ball will lose all of its angle return after striking the bumpers once. Then straight back and forth.
I'm fucking lost and disgusted. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
