1 Ball Pool Rules
Below is a summary of 1 ball pool rules. The billiard game is played the same as you would play straight pool.
- Racking: In 1 ball pool, the 1 ball is racked in the middle of the rack.
- Rules of Play: To play 1 ball billiards, each opponent has a front corner pocket. The game is played like straight pool. You can make any ball in any pocket. The game is over when the 1 ball is pocketed in the players chosen pocket.
- Calling shots: The 1 ball can be played at any time but must be called.
- 1 ball fouls: If a player scratches three times in a row he loses the game. If a player reaches three shots on the one ball they lose the game.

1 Ball Pool Rules History
I am not sure of the origins of 1 Ball Billiards, but I used to play this game in the 1960s. Is anyone elsae familiar with this game? If so, does anyone know if there is a different name for one ball billiards? Most people I know have never heard of 1 ball billiards.
The official 1 Ball Pool Rules are predominently observed in North America.
