Advanced Stun Shot Technique
To master the billiards stun shot means that you will have increased control of the cue ball and a greater ability at leaving the cue ball where you need to for your next shot. This advanced stun shot billiard drill should help you to improve your stun shots.
Advanced Stun Shot Technique
Place the object balls as shown.
You must pocket the 1-ball and "stun up" for position on the 2 ball e.g. you need to perform a stun shot as such that the cue ball comes back to position B.
Then pocket the 2-ball and "stun up" for the 3 ball. Repeat for the 3 ball and 4 ball. (positions C and D), and so on.
There are a few targets:
- Beginner - 2 Balls
- Intermediate - 3 balls
- Advanced - 1 complete set
- Professional - 2 complete sets +

I have been using the technique of aiming the pool cue at a point on the object ball where the pool cue would have to hit the object ball if shooting directly at the object ball to sink it without cue ball. I usually run 4-6 balls this way, but have some trouble shaping and keeping position. This stun shot drill may help me resolve that issue.
