I just heard that Darren Appleton had a heart attack and is in the hospital in critical condition. He is 46 years old.

    Thanks for sharing. It sounds like he's going to pull through. Darren Appleton is a good dude, and I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.

    For those who don't know what happened, below are the family's official updates:

    2022-12-21 Announcement on Darren Appleton from Shane Appleton, via Facebook:

    Just to let people know Darren had a massive heart attack on Monday. He's in a critical condition but stable at the moment. He is responding well to treatment at moment. They have had to put him in an induced coma. The next couple of days will be key. He's improving everyday so that's a good sign. Thanks to everyone who's messaged us—we are very grateful. We will keep you all updated on his progress. I also wanted to note that visiting is family only, at the moment. I know a lot of you would like to visit him, so when more can visit him, I'll let you know. Keep praying for Darren to make a full recovery.

    A quick update on Darren... He is having a better day today and is showing improvement. They have been bringing him out of sedation throughout the day. He's still very confused and trying to pull stuff out, but they said this is normal. Also, when I was with him he was fully awake and did respond to some commands from the doctor, which is a good sign. They will try again tomorrow. He still has one hell of a long way to go but today was a positive day, I think. Thanks again for the kind messages and posts. Darren has a lot of love and this will help to get him through this. ❤️

    The best Christmas Day is just happening. Darren Appleton is coming of sedation slowly today. He’s had his ventilator tubes pulled out today! He’s trying to talk, but is still very confused and a little aggravated at times, but he was saying my name, saying sorry to my dad, etc. Bless him. 💔 He was asking about Dyno and Gigi and he even wanted to try to get up. He was saying he doesn’t wanna sleep. It seems like he knows something has happened to him. The next few days will be very crucial as sedation will be wearing off. Let’s keep praying for his good health. Merry Christmas to you all!

    Quick update on Darren. He's been off sedation now since yesterday at tea time. He's a lot more calm now and just has a breathing mask. He was struggling with breathing for a few hours but it's improved a lot now. He's trying to talk but it can be hard to understand with the mask on. He's making good progress, but still has a long way to go to get through. Thanks again for all the support, we all appreciate it.
