Sandbagging in the APA
Do most people in this forum join this league to actually get better or sandbag to keep their handicap score down. I just got my score sheet and 2 weeks in a row i see people way underhandicapped. Is this the norm in your leagues as well? I took lessons from a pro and took his advise to heart that I need to play myself out of the league by getting better.

Bottom line is that people do sandbag. Others join a league because friends are members, the geographic location is optimal, or for a myriad of other reasons.
I think that if you are serious about competitive play, you should take your trainer's advice.

The APA is for beginners or low level type players.
If you see an A player (or even a B player) in an APA league you can bet your bottom dollar that they are sandbagging big time in order to try and make some cash at the year end tournament.

I play APA in Pueblo Colorado. For the most part players here are ranked correctly. The league doesn't have very many of our towns best players. I play in this league because I am on a team with my brothers and their wives. They can't compete in the competitive BCA league here in Pueblo. I am ranked a 7 in 8 ball and a 9 in 9 ball. The other top players in town that play APA are also ranked at the top of the handicap system. You can't accuse someone of sandbagging if they are ranked as high as possible.
