Does shaft matter? compatible

I'm looking to replace my Meucci's shaft, but I'm not sure if there's a major difference between the types of shafts and was hoping someone could enlighten me. Is there only certain shafts that will be compatible with the butt of my Meucci or will any Meucci brand shaft work?

And just throwing this out there, does anyone recommend a good online shop to purchase from?
