Authentication for a Balabushka Cue
This Balabushka cue belonged to my father who acquired it in the late 1960s. It is an original Balabushka cue with two shafts. One of which one has never been used. The cue is completely original and even has the originally shipping box it was delivered in. It is in very good condition and the only thing I see amiss with it is a couple of bits missing from the wrap (as pictured). Actually, I only have knowledge of my father using the cue a few dozen times in my life.
I am considering putting it up for sale. Before doing so I think it is in my best interest to get it authenticated. I am completely certain of its authenticity because I have first person experience with it but certainly do not expect someone to simply take my word. I understand someone named Pete is the true authority for authenticating George Balabushka cues but I was wondering if there was anyone closer to the Seattle area who is reputable enough that their authentication would have the appropriate significance.
I am also wondering about the best way to sell it if I choose. I am perfectly comfortable listing it on eBay but imagine there may be some better avenues finding an adoptive parent. If there is any more information I can provide to help facilitate this, please just let me know. If there are any additional images of the pool cue that anyone would like to see I am happy to provide them.
Thank you in advance and have a truly wonderful day.

I think it's Pete Tascarella you need to talk to.

Thank you Bill, Pete Tascarella is indeed the name that keeps popping up. The Classic Cues guys seem to have a lot of experience with Balabushka pool cues as well. Given that Balabushka had his shop in Brooklyn, NY, it makes sense that the experts would be near that area and of course, given his connection, Pete's understanding of these cues is unlike any other.
I am however on the opposite coast. The mere idea of shipping the cue and entrusting it to a courier makes me ill to the stomach. I don't have an issue entrusting the cue to an expert but I am hoping to find someone I can personally deliver the cue to. I don't hate the idea of flying across the country to facilitate this process but unless absolutely necessary air travel is not very wise at this moment and time and authentication of a cue is not exactly life and death. I don't exactly think it is likely there is anyone that close to me but I thought I would reach out and at least ask first.
Those are both excellent referrals though. Thank you both for sharing.
