Value of a Vintage Helmstetter Cue

Value of a Vintage Helmstetter Cue

This is a vintage Helmstetter cue in great shape.

I am looking to find it's value or how much it is worth so that I know what it should sell for?

I've been through some Adam and Helmstetter catalogs and brochures and can't locate it.

I believe it is from the early 1980s, though I could be wrong on that.

I also couldn't find anything in my notes about historical sale prices for this model, so I can't offer much in terms of value at this time.

I did come across another very similar Helmstetter merrywidow-style cue on eBay right now and it is priced in the same range as your starting bid.

Older Model Helmstetter Cue, Cortland Wrap, Complimentary Ring Work, circa 1980s

    • Buy it Now Price: $275

I've had this jewel of a cue for at least 10 years. I've played with it regularly and it is one of my favorite cues. The maple wood in the forearm and butt are what I call "dense and matted" with beautiful patina. The wrap is Cortland and needs a clean up on the end. The ring-work is very stylish and eye-catching. The shaft really matches the forearm in color and is made from curly maple. Both pieces roll flat on my table, apart and together. The cue is really a good hitting and good feeling piece, everything came together right when this cue was put together.

    Cue Specs:

    • 58 inches long
    • 19.6 ounces in weight
    • 12.7mm leather tip
    • 5/16 x 18 Joint Pin

I met Mr. Helmstetter at an exotic cue show in Vegas a few years ago.

I have that same cue and showed him a picture of it. He said it was made in 1972.

Recently purchased cue. Trying to identify but has no markings. 21oz. Came in this beautiful worn suede case with brass border, hinges and closures.

Looks like a Helstetter but need professional input to identify.

    Thanks in advance.
