What is the best shape for a perfect pool cue tip?

I have seen recommendations for a flat pool cue tip, dome-shaped pool cue tip, a pointed pool cue tip, etc.

Anyone have any thoughts on the best pool cue tip shape?

   Most players prefer a nickel or dime shaped tip. Most tip tools shape to nickel size. I flat tip would be horrible, you would lose serious amounts of precision and accuracy.
