How I straightened a warped cue butt
The climate change warped one of my favorite sticks upon my arrival to Thailand, it was raining and humid the day I got here. I found the high and low spot on the cue, wrapped a piece of tape to mark the high and low spots. Marked with a pen.
I then rolled the butt on a table looking for the gap location. Once found, I made a note of where the high spot was.
I got a radiator hose from a car, cut it in 1/2 and 1 inch long. (prevent the rope from denting the wood) I got some 1/4 inch rope and 3 screw drivers, a 2 by 4 that was straight. I tied the rope into a loop, and placed the cut hose on the stick and applied a tournicate with the rope and screw drivers.and left it for 2 days.
I had to go back and apply a piece of cardboard to the high side/ upside down of the warp to make it bend faster. I did that for 3 days.
Once it was straightened, I applied the tournicate again for a week on the old high spot and left it for a week.
I opened it, inspected it again, then let it rest for a week.
I followed the straightening process for a week on and a week off.
It took a month and 1/2 to make the butt straight, and now the cue rolls together straight, and butt only will roll straight.

Did this permanently straighten your cue? Would this work on a warp laminated shaft like a tiger x? Actually we could use a vice grip to press down the high area, just make sure to put a cardboard that is thick or a cloth inside the grip so it wouldn't ding the shaft. Thanks.
