how do you clean irish linen wrap
How do you clean the wraps? I have a couple of McDermott cues that are several months old now and the wraps need attention. One of these I bought as a break cue and on the wrap appears to be spots of glue or some droplets of hardened liquid. When these cues are wrapped, is the linen drawn through some mild adhesive liquid to help hold it in place over time and this liquid got a little heavy creating these hard spots? for a $200 cue, I expected better. The other McDermott, one of their "flavor of the month" has a dark speckled linen and it just needs a good cleaning.
So what say you? I need someone with experience to school me.

The best thing to do is wash your hands often and never place your cue on the table. I carry a clean towel and wipe my wrap and shaft often. Wraps still get dirty.
I use Woolite. It's tricky. Damp cloth not wet is the key. You don't want to get the linen too wet or you can loosen the treads.
"I bought as a break cue and on the wrap appears to be spots of glue or some droplets of hardened liquid." Life time warranty so I would contact McDermott.

Fenwick is on track for a cleaning method. I will periodically put some alcohol on a rag and give it a quick wipe down to remove residue from sweaty hands and then follow Fenwicks advice.
