Help with Cuetec cue
Can anyone help? Bought a Cuetec Thunderbolt with black tape wrapping on the butt. About 2 months later, it started wearing off badly and It was only used about two nights a week! I have a case also for the cue.I talked to the shop about it and the manager wanted to re-wrap it for $35. I told him that I should not have to pay for something that should not happen to a $250 cuestick, and should not happen for years of use, not to mention the same thing would occur.
I contacted Cuetec, and they siad they would re-wrap it, but I have to ship it to them, or I can wrap it myself. He also said maybe he could find another design butt and charge me $25. Sent them pictures showing the wear, and its getting worse fast. I like the cue otherwise. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Maybe I'm in the wrong forum! Something other than Caviat Emptor?

Yup, I moved the topic to the pool cues forum. I think there are a few guys on here who can help you out with this one. Weekends are slow though, give it until next week.

I'll start off admitting I'm not a fan of Cuetec cues for several reasons. Having said that $250 isn't what I'd call a cheap cue. For that kind of money no wrap should wear out in such a short time.
If you're dealing with Cuetc directly it would seem you're not being treated as a valued customer. I would ask to speak to the manager or his boss and demand better service. If you have a warranty you could ask for a full refund or exchange, shaft and cue.
Good Luck
