Fix Sticky Pool Cue Shaft
Today I bought a CHEAP pool cue for ~$30 because even that one is ten-fold better then the pool hall's wobbly house cues.
The shaft of the pool cue sticks to my hand while shooting, almost like it drags against skin or pool glove. Compare this to to a friend's $100 cue that slides "friction-less" across my hand.
My friend said I could do something to the shaft with sandpaper or something but both of us are unsure.
I will take any suggestions as to how to make the pool cue shaft glide smoother over my hand when shooting.

The only suggestion I have is to get some 600 grit sandpaper and sand it "lightly" until it is smooth. Put some alcohol on a rag and then wipe it down quickly and then again with a soft dry rag. Once dry, you can put a coat of good wax on it. You'll get other ideas I'm sure. I'm just going by the word " cheap." You could also use a furnitue polish.

I would suggest something a little finer in the 800-1200 range--especially if you don't fully understand the word "lightly" in quickshot's post above.
As to wax, use a pure (no polishing compound) carnuba car wax (often put in pool cue labeled canisters).
A surface with some surface indentations (as a lightly sanded surface) has lower friction than a glassy smooth surface. The wax, then, reduces this friction even more.
On my cues, I give them 5 coats before use, and then stroke the cue on the talk. With clean hands, this amount of talk on th cue will last about 3 hours of play. {Clean hands, on the tables, I play means washing your hands every other or every third game. On my brand new home table, I can go an hour between hand washings--no more talk goes on the cue}.
