Josswest Pool Cue Upside Down JW Logo

I have a 1970s era Josswest cue. The JW logo is a J with a sideways W and is upside down towards the bottom of the butt cap.

I have been researching and have not had any luck finding another with the upside down log. I measured the diameter of the top of the butt cap is 31mm and the bottom edge where the logo is measures 33mm so there is no way the cap was put on wrong .

Please let me know if you have ever seen this before

99% sure it's just on upside down.

Any time I've see cues with "upside down" or "opposite" butt-cap logos - it always turns out that they were put back together that way - either on purpose or by mistake. This one seems to be on upside down as well.

I see that you mentioned about the measurements, but I am still convinced it is either a mistake, or someone modified it aftermarket. (But as-always, let me know if you find other proof that refutes this).

Here is another "JW" Joss West pool cue from the same line as yours... not the identical model but similar butt sleeve and same logo.

Here is some info on dating the cue based on the logo, and below that is the cover of a brochure which I think shows your cue (with the butt cap on the right way). Yours looks to be the 3rd or 4th cue from the left.

No. I’m not looking to sell the cue.

I don’t have much money tied up in this cue and I am just trying to figure out why the logo is the way it is.
