It is a Mali V-8 pool cue from the Mali "Vintage" series, circa 2004-2008.
The MSRP was $280 USD but it could be bought at retail online for about $225.
Mali Vintage #8 Pool Cue
Mali Balabushka Style Pool Cue with a birdseye maple forearm with four sharp ebony points with maple, orange, burgundy and black veneers. Each point has four micarta inlays. The butt is ebony with 20 micarta inlays. The wrap is black with white spec irish linen. There are five sets of bushka style rings. The joint is stainless steel with 5/16 x 14 piloted pin. This cue comes with one shaft with a 13 mm pro taper and Le Pro tip. The quality of the finish and linen wrap on the Mali Cues are exceptional!

This is a Chinese-made Mali cue, correct?

@KCCC - I believe you are correct.
I have the following points in my notes:
- Mali production went overseas in or around 2001 (according to the 3rd Edition Blue Book of Pool Cues. As this cue was in production around 2004, I guess that proves you're correct.
- At the time that production went overseas, we saw a switch to the larger black-colored Mali logo as seen on the model above. I should note that I don't have any concrete supporting evidence to back up this last statement, though I am still on the hunt for it.
