Identifying a Fury Cue

Identifying a Fury Cue

I've been trying to identify the model of this Fury pool cue. As I've been researching, I've seen that a lot of people have trouble determining the model for this brand.

This is only the second cue I've owned so I'm still learning a lot about the different features, but as far as I can tell I can't find any fury models that have a similar joint pin on them.

It seems like it matches a Fury NR or Fury RP series cue, but I'd love to get someone else's opinion on it.

Thanks in advance!

This is a Fury NR-5 (FUNR05) pool cue from the Fury NR series (with a Fury True-Loc joint pin), circa 2007-2009-ish.

The MSRP was $195 USD, but it could be bought at retail online for around $156. In used condition, it would be worth somewhere less than this today.

This specific series was sold (over time) with different joint pin systems. Earlier cues in the series (like the Fury NR-5 cue) had the Fury "True-Loc" joint pin system. Later cues in the series are listed as having the Fury "Speed-Loc" joint pin system. There is a lot of misinformation out there about the Fury joint pin systems.

    Here's the cue's description:

    Fury NR-5 Pool Cue

The Fury NR-5 cue is a 58" custom pool cue with special selected and treated white maple shaft with a 13mm fibre linen ferrule, Le Pro tip, and stainless steel True-Loc joint pin with joint protectors. It comes with a black cue sleeve. Five rings of nickel silver with checkerboard dashes of Russian ebony and synthetic ivory adorn both sides of the joint and the butt sleeve, as well as at the base of the forearm. It features a black butt cap, and the butt sleeve and forearm share the same pattern of six floating Russian ebony points, inlaid with diamonds of bone, set off by cherry diamonds edged with Russian ebony. The forearm is birdseye maple, and the wraps are black Irish linen with white specks.
