Could This Be a Huebler or a Meucci Cue?
I picked this pool cue up at a Missouri estate sale thinking it was a very early Huebler cue. It came with three shafts, two of which were very clearly Meucci shafts, and a third that was not original to the cue but looked sort of similar to the rings on it. It was not a Huebler shaft since it lacked the little plastic insert that you find on Huebler shafts, but could also be a Meucci shaft.
I know that Bob Meucci and Paul Heubler were friends, and I know he supposedly made cues out of Paul's shop in Linn, MO and also at AE Schmidt in St. Louis, MO.
The wrap is under the varnish coat but I can't tell if that is original or slopped on since there are varnish stains on the joint and randomly on the butt. Also, the weight screw is more rounded than what I find on my marked Huebler cue but if it's super early for either maker I don't know what to make of it. The joint and the butt cap is similar to cues from both cue makers, and the use of the pearlescent rings is more a Huebler trait than a Meucci trait but I was told in the case of an early cue, it too could be either.
I know you love a mystery.

It looks a lot like the Huebler/Meucci QB-2 cue (which is from a series that Bob Meucci made at and sold through Huebler in 1973).
The only thing is that the colors don't match.
A very early Huebler is my guess.

I think you're right on the first one, it's a QB-2!
I found this catalog for the line and it looks like there was no set color for the pearl accents. There just listed as "Peral Appointments"
Thank you for the Identification!
